A NOTE FROM THE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Welcome to Fredericksburg Theatre Ensemble’s 2023 Season:

“From a Whisper to a Scream!”

Whether you’re here for the first time, or a longtime patron, we are so glad you’re here to ride this roller coaster with us. After an incredible 2022 season, we’re excited to push the envelope even more. Planning a balanced season while also staying absolutely true to FTE’s mission is not an easy task. After much consideration, we are so very proud to share these works with you.

FTE is a 501c3 non-profit collection of artists (many with a professional theatre background) who aim to produce professional quality theatre for the Fredericksburg audience. Our goal is now and has always been to expose local audiences to work that other theatre companies don’t do, stories that most audiences would otherwise never see. Our shows are funny, provocative, and pertinent. The work we do is intended to be inclusive and we consider it a safe space for absolutely everyone. Ranging from contemporary classics to Shakespeare to Sam Shephard, we offer an always-intense theatre-going experience, and we do it very well. We are a fully volunteer organization, and we do this because we love it and because we must.

We are lucky to have several new Directors – all of them women whose work I have always admired and respected. Their work is sure to move you and I’m as excited as you, the audience, to see their brilliance light up this stage.

This season is an entire journey – taking us from the desert to the isolated snow filled mountains of Colorado.  We bring you typewriters, vibrators, slobs, assault, sex, laughs, music, and screams this season.

Join us, volunteer with us. Be a part of what you see on stage this season.

Last but certainly not least, we appreciate any and all donations to Fredericksburg Theatre Ensemble.  Every cent of the money that comes in goes immediately to the next production. We need help to keep the quality of our work consistent and growing.

Thank you for being a part of our work and supporting live theatre. Because you bought a ticket, you made this happen.

Welcome to what is sure to be a bloody good season!

Also… don’t feed the plants.
